Eric Baptiste

President and CEO

With over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Eric has influenced broadcast media and cultural policy, and promoted creative talent around the world.  Most recently, served as the CEO of the Society of Composers, Authors & Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) from 2010 to 2020. Held the position of Director General of CISAC from 1998 to 2010, and chair of its board from 2014 to 2019. Served as vice chair of FastTrack for 5 years and chair of the ISAN International Agency for 11 years. Worked in radio in France from 1990 to 1998.

 
 

Janice Scott

Chief Operating Officer

Over 40 years’ experience including leading areas of information technology, information security, project management, business strategy, and operations transformation across various industries including copyright management. Served as COO of Dataclef (a SOCAN company) and Vice President of Information Technology at SOCAN. Held executive level positions within other organizations such as JBA Software (a software vendor) and OAO Technology Solutions (an outsourcing provider).

 
 

Diane Petrucci

Chief Financial Officer

Experienced Accountant and Auditor with over 30 years in both private and public practice. Served as Chief Financial Officer at SOCAN, specializing in strategic financial control, risk management, compliance, and operational auditing. Instrumental in establishing and managing an internal audit department at SOCAN, and served as Auditor and Accountant with Clarke Henning, LLP from 1994 to 2007.

 
 

Gilles M. Daigle

Legal Advisor

Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) since 1991. Over 30 years’ experience in copyright and related matters, particularly in the field of music and collective administration of rights. Served as General Counsel and Head of Legal Services at SOCAN from 2013 to 2019. Also served 23 years in private practice with Gowlings, a leading Canadian law firm with international affiliations. Worked as Commission Counsel for the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and represented clients in several high-profile copyright infringement cases in the Ontario Court of Justice (General Division), the Federal Court Trial Division, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Gilles is affiliated with QRS in accordance with LSO By-Law 7, Part IV.
